Features of Pulse

Reliable software for bells, observances, and announcements

A missed or late bell can disrupt the entire school day. Pulse is designed so that such a mistake never happens.

Free from missed bells and delays

If the computer goes to sleep, Pulse automatically detects it and rings missed bells as soon as it wakes up, or prevents unnecessary ringing of past bells.

  • Sleep & wake recovery within a customizable grace window.
  • Runs in the system tray — closing the window never stops it.

100% offline voice announcements

Generates voice announcements using local Windows SAPI5 voice technology without internet or cloud services. No student information is sent to external servers.

  • Zero cloud dependency — plays on time even if the internet is down.
  • Student privacy first — nothing is sent to external servers.

Direct connection to the PA system

Route only Pulse's bell sounds through a separate audio channel, preventing other computer alerts or sounds (e.g., email notification sounds) from being heard over the school's public address (PA) system.

  • Dedicated output device keeps system sounds off the PA.

Security and audit logs

Every bell ring, modification, volume change, and emergency ring is saved in a database. These can be downloaded as a CSV file.

  • CSV export for board audits and security reviews.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Is School360 Pulse really free?

Yes. School360 Pulse and all of its built-in bell sounds are completely free for schools to download and use — there is no licence fee, subscription or credit card required.

Does Pulse need an internet connection to work?

No. Pulse runs entirely on the school's Windows computer and plays every bell and announcement on time even when the internet is down. Nothing is sent to external servers.

What does Pulse need to run?

Pulse is a native 64-bit application for Windows 10 and Windows 11. It uses under 1% CPU and about 150 MB of memory, so it runs quietly in the background on everyday school computers.

Can Pulse play bells through our PA system?

Yes. Pulse can send its bells and voice announcements to a dedicated audio output, keeping ordinary Windows system sounds off the public address system so only scheduled bells and announcements are broadcast.

Download 100% free and automate your school bells in minutes. No internet or credit card required.
